Bicycle Tour FAQ
Is a Hoi An Fun Bike tour really the best way to see the countryside of Hoi An?
Absolutely, you will see for yourself! As you will be up close and personal with your surroundings this truly is the only way to experience the Hoi An’s villages. Our guides are not only friendly and fun, but they have an intimate knowledge of Hoi An, so you will leave with a unique insight into Vietnamese culture and people.
On our bike tours, we mainly ride in the peaceful countryside, use the quiet back streets so we avoid most of the traffic and in just couples hours you will see more than you could ever imagine – live and laugh with local people.
Are Hoi An Fun bike tours suitable for everyone?
That’s always an interesting question. Our tours are easy going at a slow pace with frequent refreshment stops, all we can tell you is that we have safely guided all ages and abilities from 7 years up to 70 years old.
Can children go on Hoi An Fun bike tour?
Many of our tours are suitable for young children, this is clearly indicated in the tour descriptions and booking forms, but as parents, you must take full responsibility for them.
On our bike tours, children’s bikes are available with a minimum height requirement of 140cm. We also have child carriers, if your kids are under 13 years old and could not ride by themselves, we can prepare bikes with baby-seaters and they can seat behind parents. Please request us when you book a tour.
What if it rains?
The rain season in Hoi An is from October until January normally. We will start later around 8:00am during that period. In case it rains heavily, we will send you a notification and we can delay our tour onto the next day.
If we do get caught out during the tour the rain will be brief and localized, we will provide free rain ponchos or we’ll seek shelter until the sun shines again. Have a look at the Local Weather Forecast app in your phone.
Is it safe to cycle in Hoi An?
Our customers tell us that they feel much safer cycling here than even in their hometowns as Hoi An is the small city and the countryside area is pretty quiet, the traffic is more relaxing and calmer than Ha Noi or Ho Chi Minh city. Other road users are very aware of bicycles particularly when in groups, and remember, our routes have been specifically designed to maximize the use of quiet back streets and our qualified guides will look after you to ensure your safety.
Do I need to wear a helmet on Hoi An Fun bike tour?
In Hoi An you don’t, but helmets are available and we recommend that you wear one, just ask your guides.

Surprisingly it’s not, you always feel a cooling breeze whilst cycling so it’s very comfortable especially when cycling close to the river, rice paddies… It also helps that Hoi An is relatively flat so there are no strenuous inclines on any of our tours.
What should I wear?
Lightweight cotton clothes with sensible shoes, we do not recommend dresses, skirts, and high hills. We also recommend that you wear a hat or cap, sunglasses as well as sun cream in summertime and raincoats or jackets in the wintertime.
