3. Food and Baby Stuffs in Hoi An – Hoi An with kids – Everything you need to know
Hoi An is the heaven of local food for us, but we should consider whether it’s suitable for kids or not. You should not worry. There are a lot of western food restaurants around the town which the child can have their favorite. For the baby, It is a good idea to take any packaged baby foods / formula and other favorite snacks, breakfast cereals, and food that your child likes to eat. It’s not really popular for imported baby food and formula in Hoi An. There is Lotte mart supermarket in Da Nang that you can find something good but it’s so inconvenient.
Fresh milk is not available almost everywhere. Most of minimart sell “có đường” (with sugar) milk. Please look for “không đường” (without sugar) milk if your kids don’t get used to it. You can check out brand: Vinamilk, TH true milk, or Da Lat milk.
Yogurt is available everywhere here and also milk products…. but watch for added sugar. Non-sweetened products are sometimes on the back shelves. Bich and Tuyet (24/24) on Ly Thuong Kiet stock them – although they do sell out quickly. Dingo Deli on Cua Dai Road who make their own cultured yogurt and always have it in stock.

I may not give much more sufficient details but I think these above tips somewhat can help families (especially with babies, toddlers or young children) to travel and they can be used as a helpful guide. Hope those who are planning their trip will have a great time without worrying about KIDS.
BEFORE YOUR TRIP
Before going on your holiday in, it is important to visit your doctor in advance to check if everything is okay for your kids or ask for advice about your and your kids’ health. Take some pills following the doctor’s prescription which can work for common cold or illnesses because the weather causing health problems may be different in other areas.
Hoi An has good hospitals of course but some taken medications in your bag are a great idea. If you or your children have any food allergies ensure you know some common ingredients of Vietnam food or some “Vietnamese phrase on dietary requirement”. The first you can use google translate then ask your hotel to help you write down it in Vietnamese. Please note that baby seat in the car is not really common in Vietnam, if you want, you should ask your car operator first.
Researching about the weather there and taking suitable clothes or essential things for a season is really important. You should not forget some warm clothes if you travel from November to January, as some swimming clothes for kids from March to September…
