Hoi An has preserved traditional wooden houses with moss-covered roof tiles, narrow alleys with yellow walls and ancient wells. And the quiet beauty and the old space inspire many photographers and lovers. Lots of them pick up its famous places for their wedding shoots. There are such as Tan Ky and Phung Hung ancient houses, assembly halls and traditional villages. Therefore, a collection of photos taken in the old space featuring the theme of “back to the past” create differences for your album.
Besides, the old quarter of the city becomes more amazing and magical at night when many lanterns are lit up. Couples can sit down on a small boat on Hoai River and release paper lanterns. They could wander around Hoi An Night Market or take part in traditional games on the streets. So, these scenes will make your photo collection become unique. Photographing at night also helps you avoid vehicles on streets. And shoot photos in front of shops with old architecture without asking for owners’ permission. This is regarded as the best moment to take romantic photos.
However, you should remember that the ancient town is always crowded with lots of local and foreign tourists in the daytime and at night. You should skip Saturday and Sunday. Because people tend to visit the town on the weekend rather than days of the week that may impact on the photo taking process.

Located about 18km from Hoi An’s coast, Cu Lao Cham consists of several islets. With crystal clear blue water and colorful coral reefs, the island is an amazing place. It has been a top choice for several couples with the nature being a great setting for romantic photos. In the Xep beach, you can stand at large stones with different sizes and shapes. Or you can lie down in the sandy Chong beach with the sea stretching to the horizon in the background.
If you do not have time to travel that far, go to An Bang beach which is only within 15-minute drive from the town centre. The pristine beach offers romantic scenery with blue water, white smooth sand sunshine that becomes picturesque under the sunshine. It is very quiet, peaceful and less crowded. And couples can pose without being afraid of having tourists appear in the photos. Early morning and late afternoon are the best time for capturing romantic shots. Couples can hug and kiss each other in the sunrise and the sunset. Or grooms may hold brides in their arms and brides’ dress flying in the wind.
Bay Mau Coconut Forest
Situated about 5km to the east of the town centre in Cam Thanh Commune, the coconut forest has recently emerged as a must-see eco-tourism site for travelers. Taking the trend, photographers put the place on the list of top places for wedding photo shoots and include it in their wedding photo package. With a concept of “close to nature”, couples can take photos under the coconut grow on small basket bamboo boats or in front of houses built from coconut leaves in a nearby village. Moreover, the sunset here is very breathtaking, so you should consider taking your photos in the late afternoon when the sky is painted with many colours such as red, yellow, and grey.
Hoi An offers various choices for couples depending on concepts you choose for their romantic wedding photos. With the suggested places above, you will certainly have the most spectacular and romantic photos in the old town as a way to keep your sweetest memories.
